Iran Human Rights, August 26: Twelve prisoners have been executed in different Iranian prisons in the past few days, reported the Iranian state media.
Five prisoners were hanged in the prison of Qom (south of Tehran) today, reported the state run Iranian news agency Fars. The prisoners who were not identified by name were convicted of drug-related charges. One of the prisoners was convicted of possession of 354 kilograms of heroin. Another prisoner was convicted of possession of 15 kilograms of crack. No information was revealed about the other three prisoners who were executed today.
According to the Iranian national broadcasting one prisoner was hanged in the prison of Ardebil (northwestern Iran) today August 26. The prisoner who was not identified by name, was 56 year old and convicted of possession of 991 grams of heroin.
The Iranian state media also reported about execution of another man in the prison of Isfahan. The prisoner was convicted of possession of 2450 grams of heroin and 1770 grams of crack. The prisoner was not identified by name. The execution was carried out on Monday August 25.
According to the official website of the Iranian judiciary in Kermanshah (western Iran), three prisoners were hanged in the prison of Kermanshah yesterday August 25. The prisoners who were identified as "A. M.", "H. B." and "J. S.", were convicted of murder
The judiciary of Khuzestan (southwestern Iran) reported about the execution of two prisoners in the prison of Ahwaz. the prisoners who were both convicted of murder were identified as "Reza R." and "Ali Sh." and were executed on Tuesday August 21 and Wednesday August 22. said the report.
According to Iranian official sources at least 35 people have been executed in different Iranian cities during the last 12 days.

Iran Human Rights, August 24: One prisoner was hanged in the prison of Ahwaz (southwestern Iran), reported the Iranian state media today.
According to Jamnews the prisoner was identified as "Saeed Geshtil" and was convicted of possession and trafficking of 11 kilograms of heroin.

Iran Human Rights, August 22: Eleven prisoners were hanged in four different Iranian cities, reported state media in Iran today. Nine of the executions were carried out today.
According to state media, three prisoners were hanged in Ardebil (northwestern Iran) today. The prisoners, who were not identified by name, were reportedly convicted of drug related charges: "Possession of one kilogram and 17 grams of heroin," "Possession and trafficking of 3 kilograms and 251 grams of heroin" and "Participation in trafficking and possession of 9 kilograms and 878 grams of opium".
Mehr, a state-run news agency in Iran reported on five other prisoners who were convicted of drug related charges and who were hanged in Arak Prison (central Iran) today. The prisoners were reportedly identified as: "A. K.",25, convicted of "Possession of 598 grams of crack"; "P. Y.",24, convicted of "Possession and trafficking of 890 grams of crystal"; "A. A.", 37, convicted of "Trading 1,800 grams of crack; "A. T.",35; and "M. A.",29, convicted of "Possession and trafficking of 2,300 grams of crack".
Another prisoner also convicted of drug related charges was hanged in public in the town of Hendijan (southwestern Iran), reported Fars, a state-run news agency. The prisoner, who was not identified by name, was reportedly convicted of possession of 5 kilograms and 50 grams of crack.
Two young men were hanged in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, reported the Iranian daily newspaper "Khorrasan" today. One of the prisoners, identified as "Y.", was convicted of murdering another man in 2004. He was reportedly hanged on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The other man, identified as "M." and convicted of another murder in 2004, was reportedly hanged on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Both the executions were carried out in Mashhad Prison.
According to official Iranian sources, at least 22 people have been executed in the last eight days in Iran. Additionally, there are unconfirmed reports on the execution of 12 people in the past three days.

Iran Human Rights, August 21: Two prisoners were hanged in two different Iranian cities today, reported Iranian state media.
One prisoner, identified as "Abdolhamid S." (also known as "Mehdi") was hanged in public in the city of Jahrom (southern Iran) this morning. According to Iranian state broadcasting, the prisoner was 28 years old and convicted of kidnapping and committing a murder 10 years ago.
Another prisoner, who was not identified by name, was hanged in public in Tabriz(northeastern Iran) today. The prisoner was convicted of murdering a six-year-old girl.
According to the state-run news agency Fars, a prisoner (whose name is not mentioned in the report) is scheduled to be hanged in public in the town of Hendijan (in the southwest Iranian province of Khuzestan). The public execution will be carried out in the morning. The prisoner is convicted of trafficking five kilograms and 50 grams of crack.

Iran Human Rights, August 18: Three prisoners were hanged in public in Karaj (a city west of Tehran) today.
According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, three young men— identified asMeraj T., Ali A. and Milad P. (ages 20-24 years)— were hanged in three different spots of the city. The prisoners were reportedly convicted of theft, kidnapping and rape and were sentenced to prison, flogging and execution.
